5/3/2023 0 Comments Jupiter hell publishersHowever, for this style of game, and the fact ChaosForge is going for that 90s nostalgia, they have hit the nail on the head. To be honest, the graphics in this game won’t blow you away. All in all, Jupiter Hell will give you a great time whether you have 15 minutes or a few hours to spare. Man, they are definitely funny additions to the game, kudos to ChaosForge for those. You can choose how often (or not) you hear swearing words. One absolute comedic moment in the game is if you leave your character stood still, he will start rambling on with random stuff. Be sure to keep away from that toxic gas though. That’s just a couple but there are loads of buffs and debuffs in Jupiter Hell. Aim is the one to increase your chances of hitting your target when shooting, funnily enough. Want to decrease your chances of being hit and taking damage when in cover? Hunker has got your back there. This is more a game to take some time out and blow up some enemies than taking in a real deep story full of tales and mystery. You find little notes that do hint at what has happened and why the moons of Jupiter have turned to… dung. Story-wise, I can’t really say there’s much going on here. The others such as medkits are stored in your inventory to be used when you want to use it. Healing items vary, some are instant use when you walk over them. Armour loses effectiveness each time you take a hit, so be wary of that, if you find more armour, I highly suggest you swap it out. Keep your eyes peeled for healing items and armour, these are items you most definitely will need as you get further into the game. I would ask my foes what they thought, but they seemed to fall apart after tasting them. They are definitely the best pineapples around. Don’t forget to pick up grenades and make use of them. Do you really need that shotgun? Or should you swap it out for a longer-range assault rifle? I believe this is good though as it makes you think about it more. You can only carry three at any one time though. The game has tons of weapons to be picked up and used, as you can see above. Once the class is chosen we will then move on to the first area, Callisto level 1. Of course, each has its own class bonuses such as resources, passive, active, and starter gear. We start off the game with a choice of class, the marine, the scout, or the technician. It most definitely pays off to be patient here. This makes you think a little more when taking turns, instead of just going gun-ho into rooms and areas. That’s right, you die, there’s no coming back. The game quickly teaches us that it is a turn-based strategy game that is set on a grid format, with permadeath. GameplayĪs with most games, we start off with a pretty basic tutorial that teaches us the basics of the game. Will I survive the hordes of demonic forces? Or will I fail and hit that eternal permadeath wall? If you enjoy this review, please feel free to check out my previous preview here, where I played Draft of Darkness. What Jupiter Hell can promise is that it’s a roguelike turn-based strategy game like no other! Jupiter Hell – Not For The Faint Of Heart! Welcome to my review of Jupiter Hell, which is available now on PC via Steam and GOG! In mid-2017 Snapchat launched World Lenses that map the surfaces of your surroundings so you can place 3D animated objects like its Dancing Hotdog mascot alongside real people in real places. Beyond shopping, Camera Search could let Snapchat users find Stories that contain the same object they’re snapping.īeing able to recognize what you’re seeing makes Snapchat more fun, but it’s also a new way of navigating reality. Pinterest has evolved the product, embedding it inside the apps of retailers like Target. Snapchat’s Camera Search could become a direct competitor for Pinterest’s Lens, which identifies objects and brings up related content. It’s easy to imagine context cards being accessible for products tagged in Snap Ads as well as scanned through visual search. Surfacing within Snapchat a context card of details about ownable objects might be the first step to getting users to buy them… and advertisers to pay Snap to promote them. In characteristic cool kid teenspeak, an error message for “product not found” reads “Bummer, we didn’t catch that!”Įagle’s visual search may be connected to Snapchat’s “context cards,” which debuted late last year and pull up business contact info, restaurant reservations, movie tickets, Ubers or Lyfts and more. The app’s code lists the ability to surface “sellers” and “reviews,” “Copy URL” of a product and “Share” or “Send Product” to friends - likely via Snap messages or Snapchat Stories. Snapchat’s code doesn’t explain exactly how the Project Eagle feature will work, but in the newest version of Snapchat it was renamed as “Camera Search.” If you remember, Snap used another animal name, “Cheetah”, as the secret word for its big redesign. Project Eagle builds on this audio search feature to offer visual search through a similar interface and set of partnerships. The ability to identify purchaseable objects or scan barcodes could turn Snapchat, which some view as a teen toy, into more of a utility. Snapchat first dabbled in understanding the world around you with its Shazam integration back in 2016 that lets you tap and hold to identify a song playing nearby, check it out on Shazam, send it to a friend or follow the artist on Snapchat. gave TechCrunch a “no comment,” about visual search but the company’s code tells the story. Snap already sells its Spetacles v2 camera glasses on Amazon - the only place beyond its own site. Amazon didn’t respond to a press inquiry before publishing time, and it’s unclear if its actively involved in the development of Snapchat visual search or just a destination for its results. His tips have previously led to TechCrunch scoops about Instagram’s video calling, soundtracks, Focus portrait mode and QR Nametags features that were all later officially launched. TechCrunch was tipped off to the hidden Snapchat code by app researcher Ishan Agarwal. direly needs after posting a $385 million loss last quarter and missing revenue estimates by $14 million. And if Snapchat has worked out an affiliate referrals deal with Amazon, it could open a new revenue stream. It could differentiate Snapchat from Instagram, whose clone of Snapchat Stories now has more than twice the users and a six times faster gro Visual product search could make Snapchat’s camera a more general purpose tool for seeing and navigating the world, rather than just a social media maker. To take advantage of the activation system, we must understand why this was done in the first place. It starts with 180 housing spaces worth of troops, and this number increases to 200 level 3. Upgrading the Eagle Artillery increases the damage, the shockwave damage, and the most important, the numbers of troops the enemy must deploy to activate this defense. However, just as Mortars, it has a blind spot of 7 tiles where troops can get inside without being targeted. With 50 tiles, it covers the entire village. The Eagle Artillery has the biggest range on the game. The Eagle Artillery has some special attacking characteristics that are not really known by most Clashers: Range Ex.: Jump Spell uses 2 housing spaces, so counts as 10 to activate the Eagle. Spells: 5 housing spaces for each spell housing space. Here is how much each Hero and Spells are worth: The Eagle Artillery is activated after 180 (level 1 and 2) or 200 (level 3 and 4) housing spaces worth of troops have been deployed, but Heroes and Spells also count as troops. This defense is reloaded every time the user logs into the game, so it becomes "dead" on Inactive Bases. This defense has a smart target system: it always targets the area with most hitpoints on the map, so be very careful not to keep too many high HP troops close together. This is additional damage done to the main target of the Eagle Artillery. This defense also features unique shockwave damage. The Eagle Artillery fires volley of three successive shots every 10 seconds, once activated.Īlthough the area of splash damage is quite small, it is splash damage and will affect near-by troops. Unlocked on Town Hall 11, it was added to the game in 2015 with this new Town Hall level. However, it won't activate until a large number of troops have been deployed."Įagle Artillery is a powerful splash damage defensive building with a huge range, capable of targeting enemy troops in the entire village. "The Eagle Artillery has nearly unlimited range and targets tough enemies with exploding shells. This is an open guide created and improved by the Clash community. Sneak Peeks - December 2022 - Winter Update. 5/3/2023 0 Comments Most serious roleplaying gamesThis game, more than almost any other ever made, allows you to push it to the extremes in terms of what you do or don’t engage with, but also how you do or don’t engage with it. As with the best mystery stories, though, that one murder ends up having ties to much larger players and events happening in the world around you, which leads to uncovering your own character’s personal history and traumas. As a detective game, you will be engaged in questioning and speaking to everyone, and in some cases every thing, to solve one murder. Where does one even begin trying to describe Disco Elysium? I could say its a detective game that focuses on narrative, dialogue, and stats, and that would all be true, but at the same time would only tell you a fraction of the story. This game feels about as close as you can get to playing a pen and paper game with a human DM who needs to react to whatever crazy idea you come up with. These party members also can change how interactions with NPCs will unfold. You can also bring up to three party members, either as NPCs you take direct control of in battle or play in co-op either online or locally. You can either pick from some pre-made characters or design your own from scratch, outlining their race, gender, backstory, and stats, of course. Even if you find some of those concepts cliche, the way you can manipulate the progression based on how you build your character and how you act will make you far more invested. The world and lore of Divinity: Original Sin 2 is full of magic, Gods, monsters, and all the usual fantasy trappings you know and love. If something makes sense logically, there’s a very good chance it will work in Divinity: Original Sin 2, and the game gives you plenty of opportunities to feel smart by trying them. Divinity: Original Sin 2 takes things even further, pushing the limits of what PC RPGs had become to nearly be as open ended as sitting down at a table with your friends and playing a campaign. That’s why it was such a welcomed return to form when the original Divinity: Original Sin came out and was a true, dynamic, and reactive RPG that called back to those days. Modern RPGs have typically gotten a lot more streamlined and simplistic from the days when they were trying to replicate the more complex rule sets from Dungeons and Dragons. You are playing as a character here, the Witcher Geralt, and not a blank slate, though, so don’t expect to be able to go completely off the rails. If you’re sick of games providing you with simple black and white, good and bad choices, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt bucks that trend in nearly every turn. Not only is the dialogue and performances fantastic, but the choices and situations you’re put in are genuinely interesting and difficult. The writing here is really what sets The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt apart from other open-world RPGs. As a Witcher, you hunt monsters, solve mysteries, and often get dragged into political and personal troubles despite your best efforts. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt benefits from being based on the established world and lore of a novel series but also stands on its own since it doesn’t adhere to the plot but rather expands upon it. There are nearly endless amounts of secrets, treasures, monsters, quests, and side activities to partake in outside of your main quest. The scale of this game isn’t just in the scope of how much space there is to explore, either. It is not only a graphical showpiece, even holding up very well over five years later, but also set in one of the largest fantasy open worlds ever seen. For the studio’s third game ever developed, the level of quality this game reached is almost too good to believe. Starting off with a recent title that the PC community has only grown more fond of over time is the pinnacle of CD Projekt Red’s Witcher trilogy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The best RPG games you can play right now. 5/3/2023 0 Comments Adobe air for macWith these latest updates, Adobe is really improving AIR as an alternative development environment and maintaining its relevance on the Web. If the VNC service is enabled, there's also a Systemd message stating it exited with error code 1. The VNC password file is copied to that location and set with 600 permissions owned by root:root.Īdding this and rebooting causes Xorg to hang and never load, and also to spin its fans to max like it's overheating (logging in on another TTY stops this). Option "PasswordFile" "/root/.vnc/passwd" I also use rofi, once I open it the connection stops taking any input and I have to close and restart it.Īccording to the Arch Wiki, there's a section on exposing the local display directly by creating the following /etc/X11//nf: Section "Module" Only way to try again is to full-reload i3, which always breaks something else. Switching workspaces usually fails to load the content of the workspace or move the selection indicator on polybar (if modules are shown). Opening new terminal windows (kitty) is very unreliable, sometimes only rendering the outermost border, sometimes not rendering at all. Most of the time it only loads the space around and the system tray, but none of the modules. It never appears on login and only on rare occasions loads itself correctly on reload. My DE is currently i3, and I use polybar instead of i3bar. The Arch wiki suggested exposing the local display directly but that config breaks X (see below) and I don't know X11 well enough to know why. I know the laptop is (currently) connected by wifi for convenience, but it shouldn't be this bad. Probably over 1500ms of latency over LAN to a laptop in the same room. I'm not sure if this is deliberate but if there's a way to get hostname connections to prompt for username to connect to, or a session number, or default to something, that'd be really helpful for this. I can only connect to hostname:1, just the hostname gives a failure to connect, connection refused (111). I installed the tigervnc package, set up the ~/.vnc/config (set session to i3, no localhost), set up the user with :1=username, set up a password, and started the service I was able to connect from VNCViewer on the client machine (over LAN) but I kept getting a few major problems: I've been setting up an old laptop with Arch, and I'm trying to get a VNC server working. Of course, such an all-you-can-eat subscription deal typically doesn't include the latest releases (as any Netflix subscriber will tell you). Personally, I thought the subscription plan floated in the Redbox survey from April sounded pretty good - four bucks a month for all the streaming you could ask for, plus four free DVD rentals a month, which nets out to about. So yes - Redbox's digital strategy is pretty vague, but at least that leaves us free to speculate and cast our votes for what kind of streaming service with which we'd like Redbox to end up. Speculation about Redbox getting into the online streaming business has been building for months now, especially in the wake of a Redbox survey last April that asked customers how they'd feel about a $3.95-a-month plan that would include unlimited video streaming plus four free DVD rentals. After months of speculation, executives for Redbox owner Coinstar have confirmed that the wildly popular DVD kiosk company will, indeed, be going into the streaming business next year - and that it'll do so with the help of a partner, although no deals have been struck yet.ĭuring the company's quarterly earnings call Thursday, Coinstar CEO Paul Davis said that Redbox is in "detailed negotiations with a number of highly interested parties" looking to join forces on movie streaming, and that the company hopes to launch a "Redbox-branded" online service sometime in 2011.ĭigital streaming represents a "significant opportunity" for Redbox, Davis said during the call, although he also added he sees a "long, profitable life ahead" for Redbox's physical DVD kiosk business. |
